Here are the finished bodice and midriff pieces. I'm sure you see the time stamp and can tell how long it takes to finish such a simple tracing. kids to and from school, dinner, baths etc... Sometimes I wish I had a clone with an extra arm.

I traced the size 14 bodice on the seam line hoping that when it's sewn it gets me close to a 30-32 inch bust. then I can make the neckline into a deep V like the original 40s jumper.

I'm going to attemp to make the 40s jumper (which is missing) from the pieces of the pattern on the right. besides the obvious problem of frankenpatterning, the other dress is too big by at least 1 size if not 2. I never make a muslin, clearly my old grubby sheet stash will get used this time. Wish me luck!

Now I am even more perplexed about my coat and/or cape. the buffalo plaid is pretty cool but not what i thought i wanted. now that i see it i like it

How would you do this neckline without the noticable bias finish? For that matter, how would you do this version and keep the strapless part up? The directions make no mention of this version of the dress.

Couleur Fabric Find

After some Google searches I found some fabric online for sale referencing Couleur. They also were involved in numerous lawsuits. Ha! Anywho, most of the fabric pieces I found were from the 60s-late70s. The print looks like its much older in style which is what drew me in. It matters not what age it is. Its a blend of polyester and nylon or silk and polyester; very drapey, very soft, and smooth. I think I'm going to use it to make a blouse, maybe a bow neck style or a 40s style Bishop sleeve blouse I just ordered off Etsy. We'll have to see what fits; it's only 30" wide so I won't have much to play with.
